But I have found, when running as many pedals as you do, it doesn't matter. Now, some pedals already have buffers in them. The adjustability of the buffer does away with people's complaints of buffers sometimes "making their guitar too bright". the buffer is ADJUSTABLE, but I won't go into a long explanantion here. here's the magic of this buffer that I have not seen anywhere else. Not only is it a buffer, it is also a clean boost, AND. There are quite a few buffers on the market, but the one I use & recommend is the Radial PB-1 Power Booster/Buffer. A buffer changes the impedence of your guitar signal so it can go thru all those pedals without suffering too much tone loss. Welcome to the world of "tone suck", caused by too many pedals. They mentioned a Sans Amp 21 or something made by a company called Engl? I'm not familiar with these products. Someone on another forum suggested adding a "transformer" type box at the end of the signal chain before the amp. The pedalboard is powered by a Voodoo Labs unit.Īny suggestions on how to reroute the signal? Pedals not in the most optimum order? Sending the guitar signal staight into the Comressor/Sustainer and maybe the Chorus or Tube Screamer without the rest of the stuff seems to produce the best results. I can use channel A on the box or channel B or a combination of both amps. The switch box channels the signal to either the Fender Pro Reverb (through the pedal effects) or to a Digitech DSP 128 effects processor and into a Vox Valvetronix 50 amp. Why is this and what is robbing the tone? Even when I use only the Ernie Ball volume pedal and the boss compressor/sustainer pedal, the output suffers is noisy and the volume seems muted. I've noticed a big drop in volume output from the amp even if the pedals are bipassed. I have an assortment of effects pedals that I have assembled on my board, fed to a Fender Pro Reverb ('79').
